There exists on the internet a raft of roulette playing systems that claim to guarantee that you can increase your chance of winning by using them. Most of these are there to fleece you as you have to pay to access them. It is somewhat surprising that people buy into them as there is always the obvious argument that if the system really does work then the system's inventor would make far more money using it than selling it on the internet. Of course the sellers will often attempt to convince their punters that they are selling the system mainly for altruistic purposes, something like ‘I have already made my fortune, now I am giving you a chance to make yours'.
These systems mostly rely on the mistaken assumption that the probability of the ball landing in a particular pocket on the roulette wheel is other than a purely random event. There are a huge number of myths that are underpinned by this. For instance one set of myths is based on the assumption that if a specific number has not appeared for a long time, then its likelihood of coming up increases with each successive spin in which it does not come up.
Another set of myths is based on an almost converse theorem; this is the conjecture that there is a specific probability that a defined percentage of different numbers will result from the first so many spins of the wheel.
Unfortunately all these methods do not work as they are basically flawed. Our method does not suffer these faults but is based on a proven fact. No matter what has happened previously, the outcome of a spin is entirely random. Every number has exactly the same probability of coming up.
