Children love adventure. Getting a child involved with the world of literature gives them the journey into an imaginative world that their developing brain craves. My son constantly loves to hear stories read aloud to him. He begs me to read to him at night when he is going to sleep. He begs me to tell him stories when we are driving in the car. When he was younger, I found that if I made the story about him in some way that he would be intrigued that much more.
Within the last year or so, my son had begun reading his first books. He is enchanted with Dr. Seuss, and more specifically, Green Eggs and Ham. He loves the simple rhyming patterns and the characters. I often wondered what it would be like if he was the main character in the storyline. How would he feel if his name was immortalized in print within his favorite childhood book? The memory would last a lifetime.
